Organizations frequently misdiagnose this pattern. Disengagement is attributed to content fatigue, market saturation, or competitive noise rather than to trust depletion. As a result, teams often respond by increasing personalization intensity, inadvertently accelerating the very erosion they are attempting to reverse.

Why transparency alone does not restore comfort

Cultural shifts in tolerance and normalization

Cultural tolerance for personalization is not static. It evolves with exposure, social norms, and collective narratives.
